Produced from raffia fibers by the Cuban people of Congo, this fabric is not merely a textile, but a timeless art form. The rhythmic geometric patterns, created with natural dyes, reflect both collective memory and an abstract aesthetic language. Each motif offers order through its repetition and creative originality through its deviation. Today, Cuban fabrics are valued as universal art objects, thanks to both their ethnographic origins and their dialogue with contemporary art.
Techniques and Materials: Made from fibers obtained from raffia palm leaves. The fibers are dyed, woven, or embroidered using appliqué/embroidery techniques to create geometric patterns.
Artwork dimensions: 350*70
Care Instructions: Do not wash with water and detergent. Gently wipe only with a dry, soft brush or a lint-free cloth. Keep away from direct sunlight; in short, Cuban fabric should be protected more like a work of art than a textile — meaning its cleaning should be limited, its storage careful, and its display meticulous.
